Laurel Street is the residential developer for Burrell Square Apartments, a joint venture with the South Rome Redevelopment Corporation. The City of Rome has also been an active partner throughout the planning and development process. The development of the Burrell Square Apartments is the continuation of the long-term redevelopment plan for the South Rome neighborhood of Rome, Georgia. Construction began in July 2016 was completed in December 2017.
Burrell Square Apartments consist of a total of 84 units located at three different sites in South Rome that will be affordable to families with a mix of incomes. The units are one, two, and three-bedroom multi-family flats and two and three-bedroom duplexes. Site amenities include two playgrounds, community porches, and outdoor sitting areas. In addition, there is an on-site community building with a leasing office, fitness center, business center, and laundry facilities. Unit features include open floor plans with fully equipped kitchens, spacious closets, washer and dryer connections, and patios or balconies. Burrell Square Apartments are built to EarthCraft standards.
Other community features include the brand new Anna K. Davie Elementary School, the South Rome Boys and Girls Club, a community health center, and easy transit access for pedestrians to downtown Rome, Georgia.
